Beluga (Huso Huso) also known as the European Sturgeon, is an endangered species that belongs to the Sturgeon family and the largest known species of freshwater fish in the world. Primarily found in the Caspian, Black and Azov seas, Beluga often enters freshwater rivers for spawning. Beluga can be distinguished by its stout cylinder-shaped body, gray in color, with five rows of bony scutes and a long snout with sensory barbels. These fish can reach the weight of up to 1,5 tons and grow to over 4,2 m in length. Beluga are predators that feed mostly on other fish.
