Chinese Sleeper (Perccottus Glenii) is a species of freshwater fish widely introduced throughout Northern Eurasia and many European countries. The only known member of its genus, Chinese Sleeper, prefers to inhabit still waterways with plentiful aquatic vegetation and can easily survive even in polluted environments. Chinese Sleepers resemble Gobies by their shape and overall appearance. These fish have somewhat chubby short bodies with varying coloration that ranges from greyish-green to brown tones with a grey belly and is covered with small spots. During mating season, however, they turn black. The maximum weight of a Chinese sleeper is 1 lb(0.5 kg), with most specimens weighing around 0.2-0.7 lb(0.1-0.3 kg) and ranging in body length from 6 to 10 in(14 to 25 cm). These fish are carnivorous and feed predominantly on invertebrates, larvae, and other small fish, including those of their kind.
