Common Bleak (Alburnus alburnus) is a small freshwater coarse fish of the Carp family, that is widespread throughout Europe and Western Asia. This fish lives in great schools, inhabiting streams and lakes, particularly the open water areas. Common Bleak’s flat and elongated body is shiny silvery in coloration with pointed colorless fins. These small fish rarely exceed 150 g in weight. Common Bleak mostly feeds on small molluscs, insects, worms and small shellfish.
