Cusk (Brosme brosme) is a deep-dwelling member of the cod family, found along the rocky slopes and rough bottoms where rocks, ledges, or gravel are common. Reaching up to over 1 meter in length and up to 20 kg in weight, this bottom-feeder prefers depths over 180 meters. Though not the most aggressive hunter, the cusk feeds steadily on small fish, crustaceans, and mollusks. Its tender white meat has made it a favorite among both commercial and sport anglers.
