The Great Barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda) is a medium-sized voracious predator found in warm waters across all oceans. Weighing up to 50 kg, it hunts in diverse environments – from shallow mangroves to deeper reefs – though it’s rarely seen below 110 m. This aggressive predator bites in any weather, day or night.Young Barracudas hunt in groups, while adults live and hunt alone. They primarily feed on small fish, occasionally squid, and very rarely, shrimp.
