Longnose Sucker (Catostomus Catostomus) is a species of freshwater fish native to the northern parts of North America and eastern Siberia that inhabits cold, clear waters of local rivers and streams. These fish have long round bodies with dark olive or grey sides and a light underbelly. While easily confused with White Suckers due to their similar appearance, Longnose Suckers can be distinguished by their comparatively finer scales. Fully grown Longnose Suckers typically weigh from 0.7 to 1.5 kg reaching 38 to 64 cm in length, but trophy specimen of over 2 kg can be caught as well. The Longnose Sucker is a bottom-feeding fish, eating predominantly aquatic plants, algae, and small invertebrates.
