Norway Seaperch (Sebastes norvegicus) is a deepwater species of the North Atlantic, easily recognized by its vivid red color and spiny dorsal fin. Most specimens measure around 50 cm, but trophy catches can reach a full meter and weigh up to 15 kg. Found at depths between 100 and 500 meters, this species thrives near rocky slopes and cold, shadowy drop-offs. Feeding on small fish, shrimp, crabs, and squid, seaperch eagerly take both natural bait and deep-diving lures. Their firm, delicate meat makes them a favorite in both commercial fisheries and sport angling.
