These fish have long, laterally compressed bodies that are covered in large and shiny silvery-golden scales that resemble armor plating. Arowana can grow up to 120 cm in length, weighing on average around 4.6 kg, sometimes reaching a maximum weight of up to 6 kg. Their main diet consists of insects, crustaceans, fish, and any animals found on the water surface.
