Aracu Comum (Leporinus friderici) is a South American fish species that enjoys habitats with rich vegetation. They have silvery coloration with large spots along the body. The body itself is elongated, fusiform and slightly laterally compressed. These small-sized fish can grow to a length of 40 cm. They feed on seeds and fruit that have fallen into the water, as well as algae and small insects.
