Sauger (Sander Сanadensis) is a freshwater perciform fish of the Percidae family which is widely distributed in North America, particularly from northern U.S. up into southern Canada. Sauger mostly like to inhabit deep and quiet backwater areas of large rivers. Similar to Walleyes, these fish can be distinguished by their cone-like bodies with golden-brown heads, speckled sides, light belly and distinctly spotted dorsal fin. Typically Sauger grow to about 2.2 lb – 5 lb, but it is possible to land a unique specimen weighing up to 12 lb. Sauger feed on a variety of invertebrates and other small fish.

How to catch a unique Sauger? You can catch this fish either with bait or lures.
