Speckled Peacock Bass (Cichla Temensis), also known as a Speckled Pavon, is a very large fish that originally comes from rivers and waterways of South American rainforests. However, as one of the world’s most prized and exciting game fish, this species is now also spread in North America, particularly in Florida and Texas. The Speckled Peacock Bass resembles other Peacock Bass species, but this fish has a more slender and elongated shape with a highly variable coloration pattern, from golden-olive with dark bars along its sides, to dark colored body with pale speckles. Speckled Peacock Bass are very large in size, reaching up to 1 m in length and up to 13 kg in weight. Speckled Peacocks are predators that feed mostly on other fish.
